WHY KIDS CLUB?
…..Because we took the pledge!
The Afterschool Upgrade pledge, will provide us with free program tools and marketing resources to enhance our existing programs and easily incorporate STEM into lessons. We offer an array of after school experiences guaranteed to meet the needs of all children. A trained staff dedicates themselves to providing children with top quality programming that focuses on developing the whole child. Our afterschool programs foster each child’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development through opportunities and experiences which focus on achievement, relationships and belonging.
The planning of each activity is offered in a physically and emotionally safe environment consistent with evidence-based principles of youth development: each child is encouraged to develop at his or her own unique rate by encouraging skill development and frequent leadership opportunities.
The Y Afterschool empowers both staff and children to explore their full potential. Our community will be best positioned to serve children and families by adopting these valuable tools and resources.
Kids Club begins at school dismissal and ends promptly at 6 p.m., serving the following communities at these off site locations:

|Lincoln Park: ||Lincoln Park Elementary School* |
* Morning care available: 6:45 a.m. at Aaron Decker, 7:00 a.m. at Riverview and 7:15 a.m. at Lincoln Park.

. During Vacation Camp, Kids Club is held at an off-site location from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Participants at Vacation Camp have the opportunity to meet and play with children from other Kids Club sites while enjoying field trips, fun theme days, and special events.
Special Kids Organized Recreation
Our Kids Club program encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities in all programs and services. Inclusion within our after-school program means that individuals with disabilities (including but not limited to: ADD, ADHD, Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome and physical disabilities) are welcome to participate in the same environment as their peers. Reasonable, individualized techniques and resources are utilized to enhance program participation without fundamentally altering the program.
We have a team of qualified staff to ensure that your child has a fun, successful, quality experience within a large group setting. We do not have the resources to provide a one-on-one aid for those children who may not otherwise be able to function within a large group. However, if, at the parent’s request and expense, an aide is provided, we are happy to work with them to ensure the best outcome for your child and the program as a whole. Aides will be required to go through YMCA training and background checks. Please contact the Kids Club Director for more information.
