NEW! Chair Yoga
This is the gentlest form of yoga. As yoga poses are typically done on the floor, Chair Yoga is easier for those with less limber muscles. It is ideal for poeple with high blood pressure, anxiety, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, vertigo, MS, carpel tunnel syndrome, chronic pain, and for anyone who finds it difficult to get up from or down to the floor. Class is held every first Friday of the month.
By doing strength and stability exercises regularly, you can help reduce your risk of injury from an accident. Class starts out with strength exercises and incorporates balance techniques. Over time, you will notice that you feel steady and more confident when you move and engage in daily activities. Also available to Friday Drop-in members!
This beginning level water exercise class concentrates on
range of motion and basic cardiovascular conditioning.
Recommended for beginners, eople with mild arthritis and
those returning from back or joint injuries.
In cooperation with the North Jersey Regional Arthritis
Center, this class is designed for people with arthritis or
those with limited range of motion. Our trained instructor
guides participants through gentle actions in the water
(pool is kept at 84 degrees) that can help decrease pain and
stiffness.
This program, led by a Fitness Instructor, helps familiarize
older adults with Cybex exercise equipment and cardiovascular
machines. The positive results from resistance training
will help to decrease body fat percentage, increase bone
density, increase musculature, improve range of motion and
flexibility.
This class is an osteoporosis prevention, exercise and
education program designed to improve strength, balance,
and flexibility using balance and strength training
exercises. It will also educate you on the importance of
nutrition, drug therapy, lifestyle factor and safety as they
relate to osteoporosis.
MEDICAL CLEARANCE
REQUIRED.

Weights will be incorporated after two or three weeks
into the session.
Looking for a great way to tone your muscles and improve
your overall fitness? This program of cardiovascular,
strengthening and stretching exercises features jogging in
deep water which alleviates wear and tear on your joints.
It’s recommended for people who enjoy the water and
exercising in a class setting. Sign up early. Class size is
limited.

AQUACIZE
An enjoyable and fun class. Exercises done in the
pool puts less stress on your joints. Class works in
both shallow and deep ends, but you do not need to
know how to swim to participate. Flotation devices
are provided.
DANCE FITNESS
Get a complete cardiovascular workout when you take
this class and get the benefits of jogging with the fun of
dancing. Creatively choreographed for the non-dancer,
yet challenging enough for experienced students.The
great music almost makes you forget you’re working out!
PROJECT HEALTHY BONES

SENIOR FITNESS
This low impact cardio workout is designed with the
older adult in mind. You will start out with a warm-up
and stretch, easy to follow cardio for about 20 minutes,
toning and ending with cool down/relaxation. Mats are
used for toning. If you cannot get down on the mat,
instructor will show you options.
YOGA
A fit and supple body is developed through the
practice of postures (asanas). Taken from various
Yoga disciplines, the asanas are taught with attention
to correct positioning of the body so that each individual
part as well as the various physiological systems
can function to their best potential. Standing
postures and breathing are emphasized in this class.
